Personal Experience

Nishtha Kashyap is an architect, designer, and social practitioner based in New Delhi, India. She is currently working at the intersection of urbanism, the built environment, policy advocacy, public participation, and community development. She has worked on projects on housing and land rights, water and sanitation, the livelihoods of informal workers, access to social security, and participatory urban governance, focusing on improving the built environment and the lives of marginalized communities in Delhi’s urban areas for over 2 years. Her works include research and advocacy at the city planning level, creating visual and communication tools for public engagement and awareness, and designing and building social infrastructures engagement like schools, anganwadis, temporary housing shelters, etc. She believes that architecture and architects bear a social responsibility to bring about positive change in society. Deeply concerned with access to human rights, she is very passionate about exploring how architecture can address social and spatial inequalities.
